Alpha Kappa Alpha continues its focus on education with an emphasis on historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

  • Delta Theta Omega (DTO) promotes HBCUs by enlightening the community regarding HBCUs as institutions of excellence with historical and current significance.  We contributed $8674.00 between 2018- 2019 towards the AKA Endowment initiative for HBCUs, and assisted five students with $1,000 scholarships to attend an HBCU in 2020.  We also award $6,000 in scholarships annually through the Chapter-sponsored, fifty-year Signature Program, Culturama.
  • #CAP, ℠ which is the abbreviation for College Admission Process, is designed to assist students in their efforts to enter college by providing a hands-on approach that includes all the steps from researching various colleges to actually completing the application process.
  • DTO works with local high schools to identify juniors and seniors and assists them with their college application and enrollment process.  We also take students on HBCU college tours annually.
